The i30 N instrument cluster is customised for passionate drivers. Featuring a 5 LED shift timing
indicator to support track driving, the red zone of the variable LED rev-counter also changes
according to the driving performance and varies with the engine’s oil temperature. You can monitor
engine oil temperature, torque, and turbo boost in the cluster.
Dual-zone automatic air conditioning allows both driver and front passenger
to set their preferred temperatures individually.

The newly developed four-cylinder 2.0 T-GDi engine is highly responsive with a rich torque curve supported by an over boost function that temporarily increases torque by 8%. i30 N features front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission.
N Performance models use the same 2.0 T-GDi petrol engine as i30 N (250) models but benefits from an additional 25 PS; boosting total power output to 275 PS. The torque figure remains at 353 Nm but is spread over a wider rev range to suit the demands of more track focussed driving.
Developed in-house, the traction and stability control is like a good co-pilot, helping when
necessary but otherwise being quiet, never disturbing your driving fun. If desired, it can
be switched off completely.
High performance cornering capabilities for maximum fun. The i30 N Performance is fitted with
an electronic limited slip differential specifically designed and engineered by Hyundai to
tackle even the most challenging corners. It applies varying torque levels to each of the
driven wheels, reducing wheel slip and minimising understeer in corners.
The variable exhaust valve fitted to i30 N Performance lets you select different levels of
exhaust sound – relatively restrained in Normal mode, to the crackling “after-burn” growl
in N mode with added fuel detonations, like a rally car during fast upshifts.
At the push of a button, you can select between five distinct drive modes to match your mood: Eco,
Normal, Sport, N and N Custom. These modes alter the character of the i30 N by changing the operating
parameters of engine throttle response, suspension stiffness, stability control, steering weight, and
rev-matching intensity. On i30 N Performance the electronic limited slip differential and exhaust sound
can also be controlled.

Launch control helps to accelerate i30 N in
the quickest time from a standstill. By regulating
the amount of available torque sent to the front wheels,
wheel spin is minimised.
Hit the steering wheel button to enjoy fast, smooth
downshifts. Rev-matching automatically blips the
throttle on downshifts to synchronize the rotational
speeds of the engine and transmission, optimising
Operating in three stages using camera sensors, it warns the driver visually and audibly. In a second step, it controls the brakes according to the collision danger stage, and in a third stage applies maximum braking force to avoid a collision or minimise damage if a collision is unavoidable.
FCW uses the front camera to detect the potential for any frontal collision and alert the driver of the danger.
At speeds over 37 mph the system alerts the driver about unsafe movements. In case of an unintended lane departure, it will warn the driver and can apply counter steering torque to guide the car back to a safe position.
