Safety
While space is important in the Tucson, safety is paramount. The feeling of security that comes from driving a car with a traction control system*, ABS with EBD, intelligent 4WD system* and impressive 16” alloy wheels is one you’re sure to appreciate. (*4WD models only)
Alarm
A factory fitted alarm system is included as standard, operated through the remote central locking control (key design may vary).
Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
The Hyundai Tucson’s Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) prevents the wheels locking up in an emergency braking situation, enabling you to progress out of trouble.
Body strength
The monocoque body structure was engineered using a computer simulated analysis, while the high tensile sub frame and side impact bars will ensure the safety of occupants when the situation demands it.
Driver and passenger airbags
The Tucson features six airbags; a front airbag for both driver and passenger, side airbags in the front, and side curtain airbags that deploy from the roof trim.
Immobiliser
The Tucson’s sophisticated immobiliser uses a transponder-equipped key to ensure that only the original key can be used to start the car.
Remote central locking
Remote central locking operated from a key fob comes as standard for increased convenience and security (key design may vary).
Seatbelts
The Tucson has five full three point seatbelts (two in the front, three in the rear). The driver and front passenger belts also feature pre-tensioners, whilst load limiters on the belt prevent extra pressure being applied to the occupants, thus helping to prevent secondary injuries in the event of an accident. Height adjustment on the front belts ensures a comfortable fit and optimal protection.
Seating
In the cabin, the driver and front passenger seats feature active front head restraints, which will help cushion your neck against the impact of a rear collision and reduce the possibility of sustaining a whiplash injury. The driver’s seat offers height and lumbar adjustment, and there are also ISOfix child seat anchors in the rear plus child-proof door locks as standard across the range.
