Hyundai New Generation Santa Fe

14th March 2013

Winners and celebrities at the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2013 stepped out in style thanks to Hyundai, who supported the annual event with a fleet of Santa Fes and i40s that whisked them in elegance and comfort to the awards ceremony and then to a meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron.

Hyundai’s New Generation Santa Fe has already won many fans thanks to its combination of space, comfort, style and go-anywhere abilities.  The same strengths that allow it to take everyday life in its stride also made it the ideal car to help turn the spotlight onto heroes and celebrities at the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2013.

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai UK, said, “It has been an honour to support this celebration of inspirational women who make huge differences to the lives of others.  We hope that our new Santa Fes played a small part in making it truly a weekend to remember for all of the winners.”

The award winners were each collected in New Generation Santa Fes and driven to the prestigious venue, London’s exclusive hotel, The Savoy. As excited fans and media gathered, attending celebrities were also taken in style to the exclusive red carpet event.

The following day, the comfort of Hyundai’s flagship SUV allowed the six award winners to arrive unruffled at 10 Downing Street, for their meeting with the Prime Minister of the UK, David Cameron.

The Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2013 honoured six mothers who have made an enormous difference to the lives of others.  The categories and winners were: Achieving Mum, won by Anna Kennedy; Charitable Mum, Ann Maxwell; Campaigning Mum, Margaret Aspinall; Enterprising Mum, Kate Hardcastle; Community Mum, Mireille Williams; and Courageous Mum, Claire Lomas.

The celebrities taken to the red carpet in the sophisticated New Generation Santa Fe included Celebrity Mum of the Year, Melanie C. The Spice Girl and mother to four-year-old daughter Scarlet stepped out of the elegant SUV with her own mother, Joan O'Neil.

Other attending celebrities who brought their own mothers to the glittering event included Michelle Heaton and Louis Smith.  Entertainer, mum and performer Denise Van Outen, Cherry Healey, Emma Forbes and Rylan Clark, were also dropped off from Hyundai’s flagship SUV.
